Bishop Friend, P.S.C., and its predecessor firms, have been serving individuals, families, and groups of plaintiffs in Employment, Contracts, Personal Injury, Antitrust, and other Class Action Litigation since 1993.

Founder and President, Robert W. “Joe” Bishop began his career in Kentucky as a lead counsel for the governmental entities in the Crayon Antitrust Litigation, representing the Jefferson County Board of Education as a named plaintiff. Other large cases have included antitrust, securities, product, personal injury, and civil rights cases. Mr. Bishop is lead counsel in the Lenovo Adware Litigation, a multi-district case (MDL No. 2624); and was a co-lead counsel in the Hyland v. HomeServices (2005), the Silver Antitrust Litigation (Anderson v. J.P. Morgan, S.D. NY 2010) and Aftermarket Filters Antitrust Litigation (MDL No. 1957, N.D. IL 2008) cases.

Bishop Friend, P.S.C. obtained a unanimous Jury Verdict and Judgment in a case involving 21 joined plaintiffs in the civil rights case of Cohen, et al. v. JHHS, Inc. (Jefferson Circuit Court, 01-CI-00235). In this case the Court found that the unanimous verdict “is no small feat and is, to the Court, who has seen many of these cases come and go, a notable success,” and, further, that the “court is satisfied that the Plaintiffs’ attorneys are in good standing and of the highest character.”

More groups of plaintiffs have been successfully represented in an opt-in class of 11 FLSA claimants against the TVA (Western District of Kentucky, Paducah Division, Case No. 5:09-CV-39-R) and in an opt-out Class Action discrimination case for 41 plaintiffs (Michael Chapman v. Premier Mfg. Co., (Jefferson Circuit Court, 10-CI-00705).
